For every bride and groom, there comes a moment on their wedding day where they see each other for the first time. For some couples, they choose to have this moment when the bride is walking down the aisle. For others, they choose to have this moment between the two of them prior to their wedding ceremony. No matter when they choose to see each other all dressed up in a suit and wearing white, this first look is sacred, intimate, and deeply emotional.
This bride and groom chose to do a first look at The Catamaran Resort where they were getting ready with their bridal party. Their ceremony was just across the bay at Tower Beach Club, but The Catamaran offered a beautiful, lush backdrop with dreamy light to take their bridal party photos and enjoy a few intimate moments just the two of them.
First looks provide couples with the opportunity to see one another in their wedding clothes and share a special moment just the two of them. While I love wedding ceremonies and they hold their own sacred space, first looks provide privacy and can ease wedding day nerves, by allowing couples to take a breath, come together, and enjoy one another before the rush of the days’ events.
This beautiful couple chose to have their bridal party photos taken directly after their first look. Their bridal party was finishing getting ready during their first look. After they had enjoyed some quiet moments together, it was time gather everyone together for portraits. I personally loved having the space and time to take these photos, prior to the ceremony and reception. It allowed the bride and groom, as well as the bridal party, to enjoy the rest of the day without worrying about taking time for photos in between the ceremony and reception. The Catamaran Resort was the perfect backdrop for these photos!
Once the bridal party photos were done, we headed over to the venue to take family portraits before the ceremony began.
The sky was clear and the water was crystal blue for this couple’s ceremony! They exchanged personal vows and promised their forevers to each other in front of their closest friends and family.
After sharing their vows and shedding tears, the biggest cheer erupted as they were announced husband and wife. I will never forget this moment at my own wedding-it’s monumental and one to be savored! As a San Diego wedding photographer, this moment is one of my favorites to capture!
I adore this couple and it was an absolute joy and honor to capture their beautiful day! From their first look to their first dance, every aspect of their wedding day was special and filled with so much love.
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Niegocki! I have no doubt your future is going to be filled
with so much love and happiness!
XO, Desiree
